Mugwort sighting while waiting for the elevator

This used to be a garden my co workers and I tended at work. The garden and the gravel parking lot that often flooded has been a construction zone since November. The area has been leveled in preperation for a paved lot with drainage. Structures and the ground have been torn up, moved around, and compacted to make way for the buildings upgrade.

On my way in, I noticed this baby mugwort growing despite all the disruption that's happened to the area. It is one of my very first plant teachers and one I hold deep respect for. Mugwort is resilient and abundant. A bitter and grounding herb that can help bring balance to several body systems. Burning mugwort cleanses stagnant energies and offers protection.

This sighting was a reminder of why I chose the name Rogue Herbs. It is amazing how plants adapt, find spaces to grow in, and be continue to be available for us. How they always have medicine to share in all its many forms. Sometimes opportunity lies in the slightest of cracks found after months of exploration. Sometimes upheaval makes way for upgrades and a chance to start again.

One thing about me, I have and will always make a path forward. And I will continue to share that healing, growing, learning, spirituality, and even herbalism are not always easy or pretty experiences. That these beautiful aspects of life often have many different sides to explore and learn from. Sometimes you have to know bitterness to better appreciate sweetness. It can be hard to carry on, but not impossible. I might disappear into deep trenches to sit in the mud and darkness of life, but the plants will always show me the way back to the light and how integrate the what was found.

TL;DR version: Let nature be your guide.
